Royal Cape Golf Club

The Royal Cape Golf Club is a fascinating mix of old and new. Originally established in 1884, the club was completely destroyed by a fire in 1999. It was entirely rebuilt, retaining only one tiny portion of the original clubhouse. This place is an architectural butchery, with new additions seamlessly integrated into the old. It’s a fantastic example of how to respectfully rebuild and modernize a historic structure.

The golf course spans over two hundred hectares, with half set aside as wildlife habitat. The golf course itself winds along the banks of the Indian Ocean, which makes for a really spectacular setting. The Royal Cape Golf Club is a must-play for any golf enthusiast visiting South Africa.
